I have been offered this Fairbarn Sykes for a very good price. Do you guys see any red flags. Could I have your opinions please.
Best regards Thorsteinn.

Could a moderator please move this thread to the Fairbarn Sykes subforum.

I am not a fan of this knife.
The construction looks good but the etching IMO looks like that of some known fakes.
The letters F-S are extremely thin and the S is rotated slightly downward to the right.
I would not be comfortable having this one in my own collection.
Here is a good logo to compare against.------

I was addicted to the "Hokey-Pokey" but I've turned
myself around.
Also,
The sheath is not from ww2. Originals were stapled together, not riveted.

If this knife was original, there should be a Wilkinson Sword etch on the opposite
side of the blade like the one pictured below. As you can see, there is none.
This knife is a fake. They started out fully etched.
Robert Wilkinson-Lathem threatened legal action against the maker of
these knives and they began leaving the Wilkinson etch off completely
or changing it to read "Wilknson" -- missing the 2nd "I".

Many thanks for the input. I will run away from this offer. Again I really appreciate the help!
