    Dear all,

For my first post, I would like to ask your opinion on one dagger found in UK.
    To me it s a 2d pattern.
FS logo on one side but nothing on the other.
the broad arrow which point toward the Grip.
Is this something one of you already saw in the past?
All the arrows I have ever seen were pointing toward the cross guard.

Thanks in advance for your replies..

Something seems odd about the overall shape of the handle.
Here is a 2nd pattern of mine to compare.
    2nd. Pattern Wilkinson FS
    Ralph.

Yes indeed and thank for sharing pictures of you second pattern.
Do you have a opinion on the broad arrow and the fact that only one side is stamped with a logo ?

    Yan, Welcome to the forum.
I'm afraid you wont like what I have to say.
In my humble opinion,This knife is a newly made piece meant to
be passed off as an original.

The /l\9 inspection mark was seen on knives made by J Clarke & Son.
As Ralph mentioned in his post, The shape of the handle is wrong for that
maker and I think that the knurling pattern is wrong. J Clark knives have
the knurling running in the opposite direction than other 2nd pattern handles.

Also, the F-S Fighting knife etch is a known reproduction. The give away on that
is the letters in the "F-S" are thinner than what is seen on originals. and lastly,
the crossguard is way to thick. The overly thick crossguard to something that
is found on many fake ebay knives.

Here is a website that I highly recommend that you check out. There is tons of
great information about original F-S knives.

Yes indeed, and quite sobering. Yet more fakes to be aware of.....
