A pair of unearthed F&S 3rd pattern knives. Ruff.

I have a pair of unearthed 3rd pattern knives. They were buried in a wooden box together with

various other knick knacks and tins. I know not from when or how.

Both zinc alloy handles are the worse for wear but still intact. On one there is still a copper

hue between the concentric rings. The shorter (6 inches) blade is in a very rough state.

The longer bladed knife (6 & 3/4 inches) has the remains of copper coating and the spots

where it is bare are pitted so it seems that the coating protected the blade a fair amount.

This particular knife's cross piece bears the WD and arrow stamp.

They are in a bad state and I wonder whether they are genuine firstly, worth

rejuvenating secondly or leave them as is?
