Unusual fairbairn sykes

Hi all,

Likely a fake fairbairn sykes but for the price it filled a gap in my collection with the checkered handle rather than a third pattern knife. It is larger than the third pattern knife that I own and has no visible markings. It came with the sheath in the pictures although it is too big to put the elastic over the handle.

This is a neat knife.
I was fairly certain that it was not an original of any sorts so I took
the liberty of sending your pictures to the owner of "fsknife.com" and he confirmed
that it is most likely a post war one-off copy.

It appears to be very well made, much better than the fakes coming in from India and
Pakistan. As you said, it makes a great filler.
