West German Bundespost visor being sold as Weimar:
“Show me the regulation, and I’ll show you the exception.”
This is a real cap, but it is from the TR.
It is a late-late war Erel, tricked out to be Reichswehr IR17:
“Show me the regulation, and I’ll show you the exception.”
.
as stated a mine field, be very carefull.
Hello - I posted this thread with accompanying photos on the cap identification thread -
Suspect Reichsmarine Feldgrau Cap
Just wondering if anyone else could confirm my belief that this is probably a Stahlelmbund cap reworked
This just sold on Ebay. Stamps do not make sense--1917 stamp? lining is crudely resewn to the cap:
“Show me the regulation, and I’ll show you the exception.”
At first I though it might be a chewed-up Einheitsschrmmuetze (which DID continue to be in use in the vorlaeufige Reichswehr). Or maybe my usual "culprit", a Stahlhelm piece.
But there isn't any difference between the cap material and that of the piping / cap band that either of these two would have. So, what? Artificially aged repro or old costume piece with good onsignia added?
