Default Reichswehr Administrative/Officials Cap circa 1933/34

    Hi,

Finally got another cap to post....they are getting harder to find.

This one is right on the cusp of the change before the new insignia came into force. It has actually had a first pattern eagle on previously but being a purist I have opted for a cockade to made it fit the period it was made. Nice doeskin crown and a well made pre 1935 cap with a lighter cap band (not quite field grey but a lighter green than the pre 1936 cap band) and the Weimar wreath with a national cockade. These are original to the cap and it was first worn post January 1933 as the holes for the cockade in the paste board are horizontal not vertical indicating the Weimar eagle has never been in situ.

The chin cords are quite heavy and made in what in termed as German silver and consequently have oxidised over time. In fact one side has almost fused onto the button which is a comforting sight to confirm originality to the cap.

Lovely golden yellow lining with leather sweatband and diamond celluloid showing the cap made by Robert Lubstein and purchased through the Officer's uniform catalogue.

Piped dark green for admin officers. Not every ones cup of tea I know but I like them !

    cheers

    Tony

A 1933 OKK Erel in doeskin--it really doesn't get any better! Congrats, Tony....
