Unusual has implications but I'd say that period was unusual....many different fabrications.

Speaking of unusual times..........here are a few pictures I have published before showing the provisional reichswehr insignia in its full glory. Note the insignia on the cap, national cockade on the cap band and state cockade above on the crown.
Plus my then and now picture..............
this guy is wearing the same insignia on his cap as those above but this time round in 1933 when the national cockade once again replaced the reichsadler. The other picture is me and my mum.....40 years later, circa 1973, walking through the Roman gate in Trier
What a cultured young man I was !
cheers

Reichswehr Generaloberst Hans von Seeckt.
First photo: "1926 Gruppenmanöver der 5. und 7. Division in Bayern, Württemberg und Baden".
"Schöpfer der Reichwehr, Königsbrück Manover". Here he is cheery, happy as a sandboy, smiling.
Second photo: 1934 "Day of Potsdam". He is an elderly man. A few years later he escape from life...
Thank you, Spandau.
If you want, I can post another ebay-photo with Seeckt?
I have more sympathy for this Reichswehr Generaloberst.
