Yes, I would say so. Thanks for the thanks. It is all too rare here.

Help is what we try to do here, but it is often very conflicted.

The other piece with the Stahlhelm was the concern in the camouflaged general staff of the Reichswehr to have at hand a reserve, especially in a possible war with
Poland. The reserve was the so called schwarze Reichswehr, which was part of the elaborate measures undertaken by the high command to break the arms limitations clauses of the Versailles Treaty and so on. The Reichswehr was limited to 100,000 end strength which Seeckt had configured as a cadre army for rearmament.schmirmutze which period

& in case anyone is interested in authentic examples of Freikorps headgear, we have a thread here:

Nice to see one that has not been "converted" to a 1917 WW1 pattern einheitsfeldmutze !

Good find and Der Stahlhelm an interesting subject in an interesting era (IMO).

Looks a nice original cap. It is missing the chin strap but other wise looks good, it is the pre 1929 version with the helmet insignia rather than the NSDAP Eagle. Makes it more valuable/desirable in my eyes.

    cheers

    Tony
