These two medals came with some other items. One stickpin and one pin back. I could not figure out why they were made and spent too much time figuring it out so had to share.
I found the research interesting. The cliff notes version is this was for the return of the Saar Basin Territory to the German's. This area was controlled by the French for the previous 15 years with much confusion and disarray. Not too much of a surprise to me.
I am not sure if this was for the celebration of the return or part of Hitler's propaganda effort for the return of the Saar Basin to Germany. I was not able to figure out to whom they were given or how many were made. I would assume a very common item but this is the first I have seen or owned. All thought, opinions and corrections are appreciated.

Hello Rescue190, as far as I know, I come from the region, these were souvenirs that you could buy. However, I have not yet seen this version of yours myself ... Very nice
