Returning the subject:
in my German gorget-book om page 258 something is said about
gorgets for "Wach- und Streifendienst". For guarding units and
persons a special gorget was introduced: black field with big NSKK
eagle. No further indication. Further is explained when such gorget
had to be used. In some old books the explanation is not quite correct!
I further tell that in some books a gorget with "Truppführer v. Dienst"
is being mentioned, occasionally with the word "Wache". I note that
the originality is not stated, especially not while the TW marking is
included. No document mentions this form, if it even was planned or
introduced. The quality of these gorgets is not the best quality!
No photograph state its wearing in those days!
It is of course possible that one day such gorget was planned and
even was designed on the drawing table. I wild guess is that even
a sample or samples could have been made. Remind however that
the quality, especially for the "eyes" to hang on the chain are lousy.
The "eye" from an original is always somewhat rounded and not
sharp. See for yourself and find out the difference:
