I recently got this Police cap badge but have never come across this method of manufacture. The badge is white metal with a silver wash, 43mm x 43mm. I have never seen this method of fixing the two badge parts together (or is it a later repair?). The left arm of the swastika, leading to the upper arm also appears to have a defect. Is this a defect in the die or the stamping process? Any information is much appreciated.

Possibly a flawed and repaired 2-piece constructed badge(?) Although the solid backed eagle raises suspicions...
