    Very nice !

The right boot has a fair amount of cracking, but they are over 70 yrs old 👍

I'm kind of intrigued, why they would also mark them with British as well as continental shoe sizes?...

    Hello!
    For answer to your question!
There is two type of size!
The "French size" used the cm (41, 42, etc...) and the "German size" who used 26 1/2 etc...
You can find the the two different size on army boots or shoes.
You see also the two different size (German or French) write on the "Soldbuch" like on this two papers from my collection:

    French size = 43

    German size = 28 1/2

Makes sense for the Germans did repurpose a great deal of French equipment.

I still don't understand why British shoe sizes would also be marked on the boots!...

A good question Gunny, but I not versed enough to give you a proper answer. They are German made boots that's for sure, and wonder myself why German and French size.

I can answer to your question...
I just know I have see some "RZM Marschtiefel", with this type of mark.
But I know a lot of civil boot were accepted by the RZM to be used for paramilitary unit.
