Hello Von it's an early SS cap badge and it's a good one.. Best regards.
Brian
For reference
Early SS/SA Cap Eagle?
From what I've seen and read, these were used by the SA as well.
Regards, B.B.
First pattern NSDAP political eagle, used by SA and SS among others.
Note the faint RZM mark in the wing inner corner.
Brian, Close inspection shows 15.
Brian, Sorry to trouble you...it doesn't appear I can correct/change my title. I'd like to properly label this thread. Maybe 'Early SA SS Cap Badge'? Thank you.
No worries Von. Only a moderator can change thread titles I believe. For future reference here's a RZM makers list to identify badges and insignia. If it is 15 it's for Ferdinand Hoffstatter Best regards.
RZM Makers code lists
Wow. Someone did a lot of work to make that list. Thank you.
I was born in Nuremberg. Is there a way to determine makers work? I'd like to pick-up works made in Nuremberg.
