Until less than a month ago the service in the R.A.D. It was totally unknown to me. As I said at the beginning of this thread, it was a chance finding.
It really amazes me that it has not caught my attention until now, after discovering the enormous importance it had during the TR for the pre-military training of the thousands and thousands of young men who who did this service before the war.
I have discovered in these photographs how many friendship stories were forged between all those young Germans.
Thanks to the experts in the field, especially Gwar for their constant explanations and information.
By the way, I do have a photograph of these men in Russia that I casually bought within a larger batch a couple of years ago.
What a great photo, it is Caro & Jellinek, one of the many companies that pre-fabricated the RAD barracks based on one of the designs from their catalog being delivered..
