Hi everyone, here is a special cap badge, the original German DRKB EDELWIESS KYFFHÄUSERBUND HAT BADGE FOR GAU HOCHLAND Certified.

My purchase of this item was purely accidental, I stumbled upon this edelweiss shaped item while browsing the website, and it was listed for no more than $30. Original owner didn't write any information except "ww2 german cap badge". I bought it from the perspective of collection, but after checking it, I found out that it belongs to the special edition DRKB cap badge.

It looks like this thing is more expensive now? Glad to have one, and anyone with specific information on this item is welcome to share their opinion. There is very little information available online.

The DRKB, Deutscher Reichskriegerbund (Kyffhäuserbund), (German National Association of Veterans, Kyffhäuser Association), was formed during WWI, and was based on the DKB, Deutscher Kriegerbund (German Veterans Association), originally formed after the war of 1870-71. The addition of “Kyffhäuser” in the associations name referred to the Kyffhäuser mountain where a large war memorial had been erected. The goal of the association was to preserve the morale and comradeship of former soldiers and to financially assist its members if required. On March 29TH 1938 the DRKB was renamed NS-RKB, Nationalsozialistische-Reichskriegerbund, (National Socialist-State Soldiers League), by the NSDAP and amalgamated with most of the earlier veterans associations into one national organization. Uniform and headgear regulations of the DRKB/NS-RKB were introduced prior to 1933 and were modified again in 1936 and 1938. DRKB Kyffhäuserbund hat badge for Gau Hochland. On March 18, 1936, the leader of Reichskriegerbund Reinhard regulated, that only members in “Gau Hochland” (county of Bavaria) can wear an additional badge – the Edelweiss as a tradition and in memory of Alpenkorps in WW1.
