Nice Postschutz buckles posted here.
For references the unmarked steele by Federer I believe is a Belgium made. In talking with Marc V a few years back he had a couple of them in his collection. A very rare buckle to come by.
The unmarked of Kirby's is a Schmole & Comp buckle.
Still looking for more tabbed Postschutz with city designation if anyone is looking to sell any or hear of any being offered for sale. (I know.... a shameless hustle on my part)
I found the old thread on WAF when Marc V posted the dark green steel Postschutz. He also had an aluminum Postschutz with a variant catch .

David posted the buckle for a fellow collector on WAF. The thread is titled Postschutz in Aluminum by Assmann. I can't link it from my phone.

I found the old thread from 7/25/07. Here's the photos David posted from a friends collection.
See Assmann catalogue, page 45 with article-number 21962:
Koppelschloss aus Leichtmetall mit Lederwiderhalt.
The difference between Aluminum and Leichtmetall is hardly or not
visible with the naked eye, as it is just a minor difference in the
materials-composition (AlMgSi-1, then hardened - vergütet)!
Assmann did then not offer one from other materials. The catalogue
is from 1937.

Markus
