Any early nickel one is rare. I would say the buckle is original and I like the guilding. Planet posted a guilded one several years ago. I would like to see what he thinks of the buckle.
It looks like a beautiful buckle to me.
What scares me now about all these buckle is what Wim Saris told us, he went to the factory post war and they were gilding these post war to sell on, original buckles done post war
Ben
That is the reason I wouldn’t pay a huge premium for a guilded buckle. You need a hands on inspection to make sure it was mint before it was guilded. I returned a Hessen and Baden Forestly buckle because the guilding didn’t look correct compared to other fire guilded Forestry buckles in my collection.

I examined the buckle in detail. I like the gilding and it looks very high-quality and authentic. Guys, thank you for your interest in the topic!
