Some of the gilt wash is missing, but I like it. Maker marked to Assmann and dated 1940. I do not know what material this one is made off. A guess would be perhaps zinc?

If you crop your photos before posting, they usually come out right-side up.

Original buckle and nice to find with most of it's finish. I would estimate 3 out of 4 of these have no finish remaining. I wonder if some companies used some kind of primer and their buckle hold the paints .
