Hello,
sorry but i don't can make this buckle to my friend ..........
First it's the typical making for an steelbuckle ..... Why it is made of brass ?
Second the tab is never from this buckle , because the condition must be more better for this buckle .
Salty water also attaks brass more then this buckle .
Over all , i have a bad feeling for this buckle ......
The belt is good and nice stamped .
Regards ,
Markus

The buckle is indeed an enigma, the eagle is correct for a Dransfeld Aluminium buckle, the markings and the catch are consistent of a Dransfeld buckle but i must admit I haver never seen a brass one before, I also think the tab has been restitched at some point, I will post a pics of a few Dransfeld buckles for comparison. Is there any chance of closer pics of the buckle Ivan, egle, catch makers ,mark etc?
Ben
Markus and Ben, thanks for you opinions, the buckle without doubt is a Dransfeld & Co: eagle, catch foots, ears, markings.. too perfect for a fake....
Also, the brass is an alloy used in great quantity in ships precisely by his resistance to the water, it might the cause of the worst conservation of the tab

Iván
Its a first for me and it does look well made ,thanks for showing cheers Dave
I agree with ivan.
Ivan,
i personally like this buckle & belt, i have owned 3 Alu RS&S & 1 Steel CTD KM buckles but never came across a brass D&C KM,
Can this be a Scarce KM buckle to find maybe in brass ?
Regards Mac 66.
Hello,
@Ivan , are you shure that it is massiv brass .
Or can it be a brass coatet steelbuckle ?
Have you made the magnetic check ?
Do you know the spot welds on the catch ?
They are not usual on brass in my opinion ..........................

Markus
