Markus, you are right, the buckle is slightly magnetic, it seems that it only have a thick layer of brass, but this buckle does not have the same appearance as the common guilted buckles, which quickly lose the finish with the wear and also the prongs and post sleeve are gold..., I post new pics and other pics of my CTD1942 for comparison.

i feared it but than IMO it is a nice original D&C KM steel buckle but

ever questionable the tab on this buckle .................
