    Hello,
The "Rondell" is the "Ehrenschildlein”, which the Rennsteigverein gives to its old walker's , is the mother of all German hiking badges.
The big "R" stands for Rennsteig (hiking trails in Thuringia)

    transcription reads
    Hörschel - Schmucke-Blankenstein
Stations (places) on the Rennsteig hiking trail

    Herschel buckle

The buckle could be an M 47 buckle that was modified for a hiking club

Look this side (scroll all the way down)

    Rennsteigverein 1896 e.V.
