$45 is a great price! Go for it quick before it's gone!

I fully support Rob. A great buckle and at a great price !

The presence of an "ear less" Imperial box and which I for one, find very interesting !!

Hope that you secure this chap.

    Regards,

    David

I must echo the fellows - a great detail / nice crown bavarian buckle !
Now you need a variant with a silver roundel, a variant made of steel...and so on...and on...and on
Believe me - these imperial buckles can be addictive.

    Cheers

Hi, guys. Thanks for the replies and apologies for the delay in response. Unfortunately a fellow collector friend beat me to this one This is not really his area of collecting, though so perhaps I might try and be able to acquire it from him. I agree...a very nice buckle and after some research, yes...it was a very nice price as well.

Thanks again and best to you all.

Gentlemen.....just a little bit too old to be in this section, but never mind, an 1895 pattern buckle, earless as David pointed out, very cheap price. If you are very lucky, a few of these Imperial buckles come with regimentals.
    Prost! Steve.

Feel free to wing the thread over to the Imperial forum (where it belongs) as I am sure that Adam would not mind.

Do you know (in theory at least), when the "ear less" buckles ceased being manufactured ?

    Regards,

    David

David, re/"earless buckles", they are rare, I have come across examples of M48, M95 and "Kinder" (near 100% of Kinder buckles I have seen had this feature) buckles from a variety of States having "earless" construction, IMO not made by one manufacturer, some issue, some private purchase...but upto date no M16's (im not saying they are not out there, just that I havnt seen any !), so in theory I guess around 1916. "Wurttemburg" buckles seem to be the most prolific.
    Prost! Steve.
