Re: WW1 Brass Telegraph buckle
I'm not a buckle guy but I can see why you would want to
add this variation to your collection.
congratulations

Re: WW1 Brass Telegraph buckle
Hi Rob, nice one mate. Great buckle. Here's mine to compare : - https://www.warrelics.eu/forum/imper...ckles-10285-7/
There's fakes of these around; but they are easy to spot as they 2 extra reinforcing plates on the back of the telegraph wire frame loops. Because of the extra plates the fakes don't fit snuggly to a belt. The originals just have the rivets. There are fakes in both brass & steel. The fakes also have a odd looking crown.
Cheers,
Richard.

Re: WW1 Brass Telegraph buckle
Hey Rich! Glad you like it! Yours is also a very nice example! Yes, you nailed it with the "plates" under the frame loops....another giveaway is that most of the repros lack detail and don't have "ears" holding the prong bar like originals do!
Cheers!
