WW1 German Buckle - ID help

Article about: Found this guy at a local antiques shop and picked it up. What are your opinions on the rivets/grommet fasteners on the tab? Could it denote a very early M95 model or some odd ersatz feature

It is a original Prussian buckle. I have had a couple with the same box with the circle on the back. The prongs have had the tips cut short for some reason. I have never seen a tab attached like this but it was probable added during the period. Here is a example that is probably from the same manufacture .

    Hello,
    A beautiful original.
The bulge on the back serves to reinforce the medallion and protect it from denting.
The tab is originally riveted and known as such..

As stated original buckle, riveted tab for me is a repair or an add on
