Great collection and display, James!
Formidable collection James, each one with unique character. The examples with formation ID I especially like as I imagine these might be possible to research.
Here are a few i have from the Gulf War 1991
And some more
Some more, The last helmet has been hit a few times show bullet damage
Thank you all for the kind words ,Kradman superb collection thanks for sharing ,your last example with shrapnel damage reminds me of another example i have which i picked up early this year and is showing a green over paint above the desert tan and metal fragments still embedded to the rear of the shell
Regards James
Netted M80 from my collection .This battle field relic was picked up in the first part of the Iraqi offensive in kuwait around the Dasman palace area ,the field applied chinstrap is in one section fixed from bail to bail and appears to be of a HBT material folded and stitched ,also it bears the name DURRAND on the nape strap ,the head band is from the later M90 model helmet
Regards James
Iraqi M80 from my collection used by either the Iraqi Al Quds (Jerusalem Army) or by one of the militias post 1991,with hints of the original Tan desert paint scheme under the dark greenish exterior coating and although devoid of liner webbing it does retain a makeshift chinstrap made of a section of nylon cord which is a clue it most likely is Al Quds used as it is known all sorts of make do chinstraps were used by them and it has been fixed to the sides of the shell via the nape strap mounts
Regards James
