Love the Iraqi Tank helmet Douglas i picked one of these up recently which is also Hungarian in origin ,mine has sun bleaching like yours and a triangular marking remnant on the front brow pad so perhaps a unit marking of some sort .I notice yours is marked HCL as mine is but some are marked HCZ for some reason which i would like to further research one day .
I might as well add my Chinese Tank helmet used by the Iraqi Army and my Israeli Tank Helmet from the early 1970's to the threadVehicle Crew Helmets - show yoursVehicle Crew Helmets - show yours

If contractors then they're likely to just be commercial 'scalp protectors'. H&S dictates headgear is required but no ballistic protection needed!

Hi all, just got this salty little British CVC. Nothing special and well used, but I still like it.
As it is , there is no date on the label, only a contract number (FVE 118/453). I've seen a very long and detailed list of UK contract numbers elsewhere on this site, however this was not listed.
Does anybody know what date range this could have been manufactured? (honing in from the generic 1983-2000s of its adoption and use...)
    Cheers
    Michele
