I've inherited swords from my late father in law. Two have Portepee's. The first Portepee I believe to be Waffen-SS Senior NCO?
The second one I have no clue. Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Steve

Steve, the second saber is probably Turkish (as a customer/end user) in the prewar period. Best Regards, Fred
Regarding the first sword portepee. You need to post a photo of the "dot" at the end of the "bulb" as the colour and type is essential in identification. I can see a couple of possibilities but it depends on the colour of the dot.
WOW! upon further inspection and under good light the bottom of the 1st Portepee is GREEN and the ball is GREEN stripes not black. Any help in identifying this Portepee is appreciated.
Thank you,
Steve
Thank you Steve. I would say Zoll (Land Customs) portepee.
Still learning, does the leather strap with the 3 silver lines mean anything? I've seen some very similar but with two silver lines.
WOW the lighting really helps identify that one.
I looked at your other post and noticed that the Turkish sword you posted is not one that has had a full picture. Would a thread about that one be possible?
Just curious about who the maker maybe.

Hey Phil,
Are you referring to the Ottoman Turkish with the bone handle?
