Thank you for your help! Appreciate the insight from others who have much more knowledge. I would love to know how it ended up at an antique shop in the Midwest where a cousin found it. Seems like I got a pretty good deal given its rarity as well. Appreciate the help!

I would think the number is a rack/accountability number, but it could represent a district. Something to research further.
