Hi Guys,
Thanks for the education.
This item is coming up for auction this week and I had them send close up photos.
I'm not an expert and would appreciate any help on this item.
Is it a repo?
Cheers,
Danger

Crossguard looks extra shiney. Wait for danny or Oleg to chime in. Photos sometimes do not give the correct detail with the lighting used.

Thanks Larry.
I was a bit iffy on the swastika and Eagles head, and the Eickhorn squirrel isn't holding a sword.
I just don't know enough to say it's a variant or if it's a red flag?

Looks like a good later issue Kriegsmarine dagger imo ,with the last type Carl Eickhorn logo & a fair amount of original finish, photos could be better thou ,Regards Paul
Hi Paul,
Thanks for that. I would've been a little nervous bidding on it without your validation.
I've seen a few sell online for around $750USD, would that be a fair price?
I want to go for it but I don't want to over pay in an auction environment.
What's the max value for this item in your opinion?
$750 is market value without the extra accoutrements.

Don't let $750 be your bottom line or you would be better off just buying from a dealer.

I will stick to my guns and pull the pin at $750.

Hello Danger,
I see nothing wrong on the dagger. All what I can see is in my opinion typical for the Eickhorn firm.
As already said is it a last maker mark by Eickhorn beginning in 1942.
Best,
Oleg.
