1939 Eisernes Kreuz 1, fake or not. If the pin is missing, would you still consider to buy it?

Article about: As you can see from the picture, no marks, and the cross missing pin (but catch is present) and box broken. The price is good (no more than 300 bucks), Would you consider to buy it? Thanks f

I think that is still too high a price for a broken box and broken EK.
If the box was good and it was a display piece then fair enough but for two broken pieces I would not be spending that money.

Looking for LDO marked EK2s and items relating to U-406.....

That is a very inaccurate guide. He's comparing a WW1 EK2 to a WW2 Ritterkreuz. They are completely different medals, sizes and eras where manufacturing techniques cannot be compared.
I advise you to discard that guide and the information contained within. You can buy fakes made of three pieces, originals made from one piece and the magnetic/non magnetic point is completely wrong. There are many non magnetic original EKs out there. Flaws on the core and the frame are common place too.

The best place to identify a real EK is to post on the forum prior to purchase and use the search function to look at the many examples posted.

I agree with Adrian, I would not regard that advice very highly.
Post any potential purchases on a forum, you will get real advice.

I think you should wait and look around for a complete EK1, there are plenty out there. Maybe think about saving and waiting a bit longer and getting better examples of both.
But it's up to you, if you're on a budget then things are different.
Is the seller willing to come down on price?

Hi Adrian, they haven't reply to me. I argued the price down to 210 bucks, which is all i could offer for the two broken pieces.

That's reasonable. I would've said around the $200 mark for the set.
    If not, walk away.
