Hi All,

Picked this one up the other day, it was priced the same as another example near me but had the paper envelope. This and the other one I had the opportunity to buy appear to have replaced ribbons and this was taken into account on the price.

This example is unfortunately missing most of the bronze wash and shows that it is a later Zinc made example.
The envelope with this is Carl Poellath Schrobenhausen.

I'm enjoying these medals with the paper evelopes.

Quite a few of the Poelath examples are found with replacement ribbons.

Just wondering, given the areas where the zinc base metal is exposed if it has been on a medal bar at some point.

That idea does appear to fit, the back being worn down against the uniform and the edge against another medal. A shame it's been seperated from the bar.

Hello, yours is an original mis-spelled packet, 'Schrobenhansen" not 'Schrobenhausen", somewhere along the line it was discovered, rumor has it packets found with the maker cut out may be the mis-spelled packets.. G

That's interesting, I didn't know that. I had a set years ago that had the maker cut out of the envelope. I always wondered why.

Very interesting, I would have never noticed that otherwise. I should be more observant. I just googled the mark and it corrected me to that so I thought it was just my eyesight

It looks as if someone put the U in the stamp upside down.
