Feuerwehr Ehrenzeichen, 1.Klasse

Gents,

Here is a new one for me. I've swithered for years whether or not to go after one, but seeing as it is one of the few civil ie Polizei/Feuerwehr/Zoll awards missing from my setup I thought why the hell not.

Thing is, the 1st class isn't a long service medal like the other agencies I mentioned. Yes there is a 25 year long service cross but that is the silver, 2nd class type.

The 1st Class was awarded for courageous and decisive behaviour when fighting fires/saving lives, so wasn't likely to be found in a Christmas cracker.

I just need to find a case for it now.

Very nice..

As a retired firefighter/medic I like these civil awards to these organizations. The uniforms, medals and other accoutrements are an area that is often forgotten, overshadowed by the combat medals and uniforms of the armed forces..
