I like a lot of things about it but there are a couple of places that I can't find a match to on known originals.
Hopefully a few more opinions will be forthcoming.

Thanks Doug, yes curious that it's on both badges but interesting.
I was looking at the outline from the reverse where the tail and trailing leg meet. On Laco's badge the area is rounded whereas yours is a sharp V as well as the V slot in the tail feathers as you pointed out.
Everything else about the badge I like.

Every badge has this area a little different... I have a heretical thought, if the worker just forgot to sand this area when finishing the badge by hand...

I’m unable to search for my old threads due to the restriction on my account but I remember an in depth discussion with BigNed years ago where this was explored.
I have a frontflug spange that has two holes I stamped so the workmanship spanned not only the buntmetal badges but also zinc examples
