I agree with Paul . IMO it matches well with a unknown maker 1.17 in Mr. Webers book . It's in great condition with what looks like Luftwaffe cloth and the backing intact , congrats . Wait for more opinions .

Without going to the books, I'd say it looks good. Looks like a known variant with the rather skinny projection (circled).

Definitely an original. Seems to appear most often on Luft backing. Mine is on Luft backing too, as is the example in Weber's book.

I wouldn't worry. I have a couple that are like that. They were either unissued or issued to a soldier who stuck it in a drawer back home.
