Have a look at the faces of the men depicted on the medal, they look as if they're wearing masks. Originals have smooth faces.

@rbminis: “Anchullus” instead of Anschluss was horrible, but you’ve edited the title using the wrong date. The 1 October 1938 date was a different Anchullus for which a separate medal was issued.
