    Default Need Help - What Is This Decoration?

    I was talking to a high school buddy this weekend about his father’s service in WWII. He was a machine gunner in Italy. Sunday he looked in his father’s foot locker and found this. I have no idea what it is. Any help would be appreciated. This is the only picture he sent. I have asked for a picture of the reverse side, but haven’t gotten it yet. Thank you in advance. Jim G.
