Ribbon authenticity guide

    Technically, if a ribbon had no weft, it would just be thread!

    In any weave, in all fabrics, the horizontal thread (also known as a ‘shot’), is the weft - interlaced with the vertical warp threads.

    The visible and pronounced bend, shown here, is simply the return.
    In the modern/reproduction ribbons, that return is simply tighter and, therefore, less notable.

    Looks like a genuine one to me as well. A UV light test would also help to put your mind at ease. Here is my genuine example
