I'm not liking the reverse on this one bit. Holes in the base material look like bubble from casting. I'm not thrilled with the look of the catch, pin or hinge either. Can you get some reverse shots from slightly different angles please?
Looking for LDO marked EK2s and items relating to U-406.....
I think it's o.k. The Schwerin CA badges got pretty rough towards the end of production when they switched to zinc, and this is a damned good match. The only thing that slightly concerns me tbh, is the catch.

We shall stick it out to the end, but we are getting weaker of course, and the end cannot be far.
It seems a pity, but I do not think I can write more. R. SCOTT.

imo a very bad late war badge.
Better a rough late war badge than a fake. Regarding the catch, is it the base of the catch that bothers you Ned? Because I haven't seen another one like it myself.
I am agreeing on the above opinions-a very late war bubbly rough zink poor quality badge. As for the hardware...with quality control This far gone-who knows? It may possibly have been replaced, or then again, it could simply be a last ditch shipment of parts at the end of the war...
