A fake badge for sure. Schwerin 2nd pattern badges only came with a horizontal pin.
Looking for LDO marked EK2s and items relating to U-406.....
Hi I am a new collector and no expert but doesn't the backside show a manufacturer with 68 as the date which would verify it is fake or fantasy among other reasons? Let me know if this post is not ok just trying to contribute and learn
I have an original with the number 68 on the back and the above is a fake with the same number. The fakers will try and replicate as closely as possible an original and won't leave a part of the makers mark out just to differentiate a fake badge. The number 68 is like a postcode which is/was in the south west of the city along with several other makers of decorations, Juncker for example.

Thanks Adrian...
Your contributions are always detailed and helpful..
Sometimes I think it doesn't do any harm to see re-visit these fakes to remind people that marks/numbers makers etc are not guarantee of anything...
I had noticed the quality of the pin and catch plus of course the fact that this badge had a vertical pin rather than the horizontal (correct) pin...
Regards
Mark
