Hi again everyone, this is the last badge from my recent haul of 11. It is makers marked by Wilhelm Hobacher, the gilding is correct to the reverse of the badge and I have seen similar catches on ones sold as original..

But... I Left this one for last because I'm very hesitant to call this original based on so many WH fakes floating around.

Please let me know your thoughts and If you think this one has a chance of being original.

Well, I'm trying to be objective but that label is throwing me off. Is it a price tag and does the R stand for South African Rand (currently about £33)?

Hi Mark, yes that was R700 South African Rand.

Please note that South Africa does not have many serious collectors and prices can range wildly over here, all the 10 badges I posted recently worked out to about the same price as this one.
So the price on the badge should not really play a role regarding authentication. :-)

Haha, so I just need to factor in the cost of the flight then!

Notwithstanding the price tag I can see no obvious red flags and I think it is good. Can you tell what the catch is made of? It looks correct.
