trying to translate what appears to be a Japanese soldier's dog tag
I need some assistance translating a brass tag that I have, I'm not sure how I can to possess this item, it may have belonged to my uncle, who served in New Guinea and in the occupation force. I'd also like to know if there is some mechanism for returning a dog to the soldier's family, if they can be identified. My uncle's plane went down in the Adriatic Sea during WW2, and I know it would mean a lot to my family if we were able to find his dog tag. I assume other families feel the same way.
Thanks in advance,
TQ
