German police bayonet from the 1930s.
The maker is Alexander Coppel of Solingen.
The marking on the crossguard is for the Schutzpolizei Munster. The "V" is probably an administrative subdivision and the "1900" is the individual weapon number.
Hope that helps

Thanks Richie, it came with some Red Cross daggers, and on the scabbard it has the same number. Any Idea "Where" it might have came from?

Wartime pickup from Germany by a GI would be my guess.
Matching numbers on bayonet and scabbard are good.
Looks to be in good condition.

Richie, I have capture papers on this, but it doesn't tell me "Where" it might have come from. I thought maybe the maker mark might give a hint. It came from a Vets estate I purchased.
Thanks TK

I suppose the obvious answer is that it came from Munster although Munster was captured by the British on 3rd May 1945.
If the capture papers give the GI's unit then you might be able to trace where he was.
Or perhaps we will never know !

Thanks Richie, yes the more in dig into these things the harder it seems to get sometimes. I know this vet has a combination of alot of items he collected, and could have got them from anyone I guess. Lots of work to do!
Thanks TK
