The piece could be Zollschutz wout any police eagle emblems, frog could be for service bayonet, the blade normally should be longer as 25cm, the other possibility is denazified with removed emblem on grip.
Hello,
yes this is a walking out bayonet of a police officer. Not delivered for official service, bought privately.
The frog doesn't belong there.
The frog, however, is a service piece. Colored black for the security police, for Einsatzgruppen of the Security Police and the SD or Einsatzkommandos.
"PO 1940" is the police's possession stamp from 1940.
Interesting comment about the frog SW.
At first glance, the original obverse picture looks to be that of a Customs bayonet but if you look in tbe center, it does seem to show the remains of aluminum prongs.
Regarding the holes in grip plates, Weimar emblems used 1 prong, early 3R emblems used 3 prongs and later 3R emblems used 2.
