I've been meaning to show this one off for some time. Pulled it out of its display this evening. This is a slotted Polizei bayonet by Carl Eickhorn with double oval trademark. Both the hilt and the scabbard throat are unit marked.

Maker's mark and slot.
very nice. looks to be a black frog for municipal police. i really like the style of these , and think they are kind of under rated compared to other TR blades.
i have 2 non slotted police. i considder daggers because they are not intended for rifle mount.
very nice for your collection.

Interestingly, this bayonet has a sister on the johnsonreferencebooks.com website. The stamping "S Ko.I." is for Municipal Police Property, Administrative District Koln, duty location I. Their bayonet is numbered, mine is not.
I like these type. Nice example !

Steve.
If I may steal a wonderful quote from the germaniainternational.com site: "The slotted version was issued to special officers who formulated the honor companies which were designated for parades and official reveiw. The would make a great visage when assembled with their Mauser 98s all with bayonets fixed and in parade formation." Hope you enjoy. rick

Rick great police bayonet. Someday I will get one. Gary
Thanks for showing this one.
I am in negotiations at the moment to buy a Police bayonet (unslotted).
Cheers, Ade.
The SS former Polizei sleeve diamond was purchased from the Collector's Guild. It is still pictured there. I love it.
