Default Falconry knife - Falkner Messer an unknown beauty

This is a Falkner Messer, a knife specialy designed for the hunt with Falcons.
It has a blunt ridge from the guard to the nothes, after the notches the false edge starts.
The knife will be held in the Falconers glove, when the falcon lands it will not hurt his claws, but the pray if not dead can be killed by the false edge ( the last 4 inches towards the tip)
This one is a special one, totally handmade, most likely a Gezelle Piece, one to become a master smith.
    Most likely made between 1900-1920.

Enjoy this rare bird, as i doubt you will find another one

    Impressive piece of cutlery Ger.
    a question to ask :
Where Falconers a part of the forestry group supported by the Third Reich?

I would be curious the true identity of this fine piece of art. The Hanger itself is amazing !

A fascinating and I would think rare blade. I also have never seen one before. A real quality piece and I like the details like the shaped pommel cap. A classy feature.
