Wow! that is a rare treasure indeed Ger. A princely gift, that displays the glory of Solingen craftsmanship of which J A Henckels was a leading example. So many areas to comment on. Glorious blade, the damascus steel an inspired choice for a Forestry presentation piece as it mimics the look of tree bark, even the Plane tree. The etching is of a quality rarely seen and again was undoubtedly executed by the company's master etcher. The gilting is perfect and no sign of wear as is the hand coloured Royal arms. The stag horn grip is a wonderful deep red that evokes autumn colours nicely matched by the deep blued fittings and the traditionally made wood and leather scabbard. Breathtaking. And surely presented to some high official with suitable pomp and ceremony. What a find, and without doubt, irreplaceable.

Amazing Ger, truly one of the best items I have ever seen. From the beautiful leather on the scabbard to the detailing on the crossguard, oh, and then there's the blade.

I hope you can cherish this one for a long time to come

    Congrats
