Here is another Feldpost letter which if im correct with the Feldpost number, is for a Gefreiter in Fusilier Regiment Grossdeutschland.
It has been returned as he was killed in action.
Does anyone know where they were fighting around the time of his death which would be the end of December 1942 or begining of January 1943. I can read the first name as Karl Heinz and i think the second name might be Römer but not sure. The home address is Franfurt am Main Höchst. Leverkuser Strasse 21

    All help greatly appreciated

Feldpost numbers for most units consisted of a 5-digit number. Prefixes were sometimes used to denote service (L for the Luftwaffe, M for the Kriegsmarine, SCH for coastal defense units, etc.), Sammelfeldpostnummern / Collective Feldpost Numbers — These numbers were used in locations with a high concentration of troops, primarily in large cities. They typically consisted of a 5-digit number, followed by a 1- or 2-digit letter (A, B, C, AB, etc.).
