    That is what I am hoping too.

    Great research! I have seen many cases of Luftwaffe ground crew and maintenance unit troops being used to fight as infantry towards the end of the war when there were no survivable aircraft left.

    I had read about task force Baum in an old 'After the Battle' mag years back but have to dig it out again.

    Thanks Will (as always) ....I will persist but I think it will just be a nice letter home and not reveal any snippets of historical importance. Sad though that we have lost the 'art' of letter writing......
