What an outstanding collection. Nicely preserved. Now, regarding the stamps, I really don't believe there is any reason for a "Third Reich era stamp" to be "fake." There is a really solid chance that most of the Hitler stamps and other related German Government stamps are typically (so I would think) period originals, as they call them. Though I am sure someone in this world since the year 1920 has tried and maybe even was successful at reproducing some of the more iconic stamps from this time era. Your collection has truly inspired me to collect some cool stamps just like yours. Thanks for sharing!!

P.S. I almost forgot.. I am REALLY curious to know why the Nazi Party would allow any sort of propaganda that was not in their native language. Does that not just make you curious? You would think that Hitler would have found it insulting, using the language of His Enemy. This row of stamps you have are just simply awesome.

Also, if any Deutsche Post experts are around (if that's how you call it, sorry) could you provide a small thought process on what exactly a "Fake Third Reich Era stamp may be?" THX!

Nazi Germany occupied large swathes of Europe before and throughout the course of the war. Not all of those territories spoke German as a first or even second language, and so it was practical to print various forms of propaganda in non-German languages.

Magazines like 'Signal' were printed in a multitude of languages for international distribution. 'Signal' was produced in 26 European languages, but not in German. It was even printed in English within the United States, up until their entry into the war in December 1941.

I can't imagine that this would have greatly upset Hitler, or any other senior Nazi. Even the most diehard National Socialist would have been pragmatic enough to understand that not everyone in the world spoke German.

To echo what BB has stated the Third Reich consumed a very large portion of the European mainland and in many cases the occupied nations did not speak German.. Postage stamps with the countries native language was common and even more common was for the Third Reich government to utilize the postage of occupied nations and overprint them with 3rd Reich monetary denominations, this in itself was a huge propaganda ploy showing that nation who had been overrun by the powerful Third Reich that Germany was in control of that countries fate and nothing, not even postage stamps would be left unaltered.. Sort of a Conquering Power over a defeated Country ploy.. and to make matters even worse, many of the stamps were also Third Reich stamps making the countries stamps useless until they were Overprinted in the region that German forces occupied. In many cases this was the only approved/authorized form of postal stamps..

Notice the stamps posted.. These are Third Reich stamps that were overprinted for use in the occupied regions.. UKRAINE, OSTLAND and CZECHOSLOVAKIA.. These are just a few examples of the OVERPRINTS..

Now the last example is a Polish stamp with the German General Government Stamp OVERPRINTED on the Polish Stamp.. When Germany invaded Poland and ultimately occupied the Country there were many logistical variables that the German Reich had to apply in order to occupy the country in the name of the Greater German Reich (Großdeutsches Reich). Germany was not ready to take on all its administrative roles and responsibilities. The German Postal (Reich Post) services had a military branch which was responsible for taking control of Polish Post offices and the postal system... Once again in order to restore quickly the postal operations for both civil and military (Feld Post) the Overprint stamps were a quick fix solution and once the occupation duties took form, more organized efforts to establish the Polish postal system under German occupation could take place.. This occurred each time the German Armed forces overran and occupied a country..

So this was just a brief synopsis of the overprints, and some of the reason why the German Postal system used occupied countries stamps with overprints and German stamps with overprints..

The United States of America had a series of WW2 stamps dedicated to the "Overrun Countries" (See attached) All of the Nations that Germany, Italy and Japan either overran, occupied or annexed during WW2...

Hope this explains a little better...
