Panzergraben vor Timoschewka
Johann Fürst has not yet been transferred to a military cemetery set up by the Volksbund.
According to the information available to us, his grave is currently in the following place: Timoschiwka - Ukraine
Gefallen : Artillerie Geschoß Kopf
Killed in action : Artillery projectile head
The Panzergraben vor Timoschewka (Anti-tank ditch in front of Timoschewka) was a defensive position created by the Russians and was the scene of fierce fighting.
On September 13, the regiment was in the Antonovka area in the Nogai steppe. On September 19, 1941, the anti-tank ditch of Timoschewka (Tymoshevka) was reached. On September 20, 1941, the order was issued to attack the anti-tank ditch, which was heavily defended. The regiment managed to break into and break through the Russian positions, allowing the march to the south-east to resume. But after just a few hours, the counter-order came: the regiment was to turn to the east in order to smash the enemy who had broken through at Balki.

The below thread is quite interesting -
What can you tell me about this photos of my Grand Uncle (Gebirgsjäger)?

I have added the casualty card to the other thread above as it seemed fitting to include it there. He was wounded during the attack on the anti tank ditch also it seems.
